Small Wedding

Definition of Small Wedding A “small” wedding is based on cutting out a number of guests or money spent. Remember, the less people the less money you spend. Consider Your Budget With small wedding planning, the first thing you need to do is sitting down and making up your guest list. Decide what number is small for your budget, remember the guests you invite; you may need to plan for food, dessert and drinks. Also, each guest will require a chair to sit in that may or may not be rental fee. Intimate Venue Ideas for Small Weddings Small weddings actually give you so many more choices, because you can include smaller and more budget friendly places. Local Park Gazebo Here are some ideas for a small intimate wedding and some of my favorites: Churches with Halls Look into a church that has a separate hall for wedding receptions. Many of the older churches in the City of St Louis have large Fellowship Halls that they can rent to you. The fee usually includes tables and cha...

Small Weddings

Having a Small Wedding There's a growing trend towards smaller guest lists. Here are some of the reasons intimate is ultimate.... 1. You get to celebrate one of the biggest days of your life surrounded by people who love you. This is one of the best things about having a small wedding. 2. You can feel more relaxed on your wedding day. Because you’ll be surrounded by friends and family, you’ll feel more at home with your guests. Your wedding will feel more like a celebration with close-knit friends and family, than a production. 3. You can save money. You can save thousands of dollars by having an intimate wedding, which means you won’t have to go over your Wedding Budget. 4. You can splurge. Some couples choose a small guest list not necessarily because their budgets are small, but because they can pull out all the stops and have a truly lavish wedding. You get more ‘wow’ for less wallet with a small wedding. When you have got fewer guests, you can splurge on the t...

Hotel Ignacio St Louis

One of the best locations to have a small, intimate wedding or elopement is at a boutique hotel. St Louis boasts several in the area. Like Hotel Ignacio in Mid-Town. Nicole and Kendall were married by the fireplace of the hotel lobby in the winter time. They enjoyed a brunch-style reception following for their guests. This ideal location in Mid Town St Louis is near Grand Center and various attractions and art galleries. Photography by White Klump Carolyn Burke | Officiant | 314.821.4844

12-12-12 Fun and Quirky

I had the pleasure of being the OFFICIANT for the wedding of Nathasha and Ric.  They are now a blended family who reside in Texas.  They chose SAINT LOUIS as a destination to have a fun and quirky wedding event at the beautiful CONSERVATORY GARDEN WEDDINGS in St Charles, Missouri. They expected about 30 guests and they used their creative juices to make it fun for their children who range in age from pre-teen to young adult - no stuffy dresses or tuxedos at this wedding !  The wedding date as 12-12-12 and we waiting until 1:20pm to start the ceremony. Many Blessings to this great new family !!

Sir Terence and Lady Angela

Although I do not feel worthy, I was given the role of officiant for the wedding of a knight and his lady. Yes, Sir Terence contacted me with a request for a simple ceremony with just the two witnesses present. It is Britain's top honor to receive knighthood and I gave what I feel is a honor to officially bond two people together. At the end of the ceremony I like to end with the phrase, "[Bride/Groom], your may share your first kiss as husband and wife." It may just be their first names, it may be Mr. and Mrs. Jones. In this case, I replied, "Sir Terence and Lady Angela, you may share your first kiss as husband and wife." Oh that sounds nice.
