What are the steps to book a ceremony with a Wedding Officiant? St Louis, MO First Step: Do you have a favorite date in mind? Perhaps a time of year or season? Maybe the answer is NOW or last minute (elopement). Coming up with a date is a priority when booking an officiant. It is obvious that we need to be available to perform the ceremony. Second Step: What time of day appeals to you? Be creative. If you choose earlier in the day, you can celebrate with a brunch. Afternoons are the most popular. With the number of mixed interfaith marriages taking place, many couples today are opting to have a secular ceremony instead of a religious ceremony for their wedding.  This allows them to include special readings, vows, symbols or wedding themes (whether religious or not) that they may not be able to include in a religious ceremony or location. A secular ceremony contains no religious elements (except for what the couple may add) and can be performed in a venue of your choice, depending on the area in which you wish to get married in.  It is a good idea to interview at least two different officiants; to compare their style and make sure you are comfortable with the ceremony structure.  It is important that you feel comfortable with the officiant who is performing the ceremony and that you feel that he/she is interested in you as a couple. I had the honor of officiating the wedding ceremony for Amber and Chris who were married at the Top of the Met   operated by Kemoll's Restaurant in downtown St. Louis.   The color theme for this event was easy to spot - BLACK AND WHITE. They had a nice display of cupcakes instead of the traditional wedding cake and fun favor boxes that also served as an escort card. The groom was a little nervous and the anticipation of seeing his bride walk down the aisle was evident. Standing in front of a wall of windows on the 42nd floor of the Metropolitan Building was not as easy as I would have thought.  My peripheral vision took hold as the ceremony started, but I was quick on my feet.  WHEW !! What a fantastic wedding ceremony in St Louis and the Central West End neighborhood. The beautiful wedding ceremony of Aleksandra and Serge was very special.  Both are a beautiful couple with Russian roots.  The fine affair occured at the 11th floor of the Chase Park Plaza in the Zodiac Room.  The outside terrace provided an intimate gathering of family and friends.  The sun was fast approaching its sunset. Everything inside was in its place with the hotel event coordinator, providing exceptional service.  The bride was breathtaking with her beautiful dress which included a shawl and gloves. We had a hard time finding an officiant for our wedding who was affordable, will do a non-religious ceremony, and someone we meshed with. Luckily, in the nick of time, we found Carolyn! Her services are very reasonably priced, she is flexible and willing to do a non-religious ceremony, professional, and knowledgeable. We immediately felt like we were in good hands and decided to book.  We emailed and called before the event, planning specifically what the ceremony would entail. She was helpful in making suggestions, but also flexible in doing what we desired.
