Glass Crystal Unity Ceremony
A simple, yet nice way to symbolize your union as a couple during a wedding ceremony is the glass ceremony.  In St. Louis, the Third Degree Glass Factory  has the materials you need.  Much like a sand ceremony, couples use colored glass crystals called FRIT in place of sand for their unity candle ceremony. First, couples order colored frit that match their wedding colors.This is usually done after the vows to symbolize the coming together of two individuals into one marriage.  I have a favorite passage that I use regularly.

[ Name and Name], today you join your separate lives together to become “one”.  
The two separate containers of glass crystals symbolize your separate lives, separate families and separate friends. They represent all that you are and all that you’ll ever be as an individual.

As you pour the two containers into their third vessel, your individual vessels of glass will no longer exist, they will be joined together as one. The combined glass crystals will be permanently fused as they are heated and shaped into a beautiful one-of-a-kind piece of art that will, like your love and commitment, be forged together for all time. So shall it be in your marriage.

How Formal Is Your Wedding?
